or perhaps more …. one can only question….

In my work as an intuitive consultant, I have heard the most amazing stories.  And lately, many of my clients and friends are experiencing upheaveal and discord. 

Myself included.  I do think Mother Earth and the Collective Unconscious (Quantum Pool) are filled with so much toxic energy that it is vibrating outward and affecting not just the environment, but our personal lives as well.

I remember a story about Mother Teresa.  She was asked if she would march in an anti-war rally.  Her reply?  “No, but when you have a peace rally, call me.”

She knew that where we put our attention is what we will ultimately experience and create.  Both individually and collectively.

On the other hand, however, I do see more and more awareness of the power of love and prayer to heal and renew. 

There are two forces at work here – whatever you call them – Light and Dark – Good and Evil.  Good news?

WE are the ones who CHOOSE where we put our attention and our thoughts.  WE are the ones who choose the words that are a command on the Universe.

I am reminded of Abraham Lincoln, who had a sign in his office:  “My religion is simple.  When I do good, I feel good. When I do bad, I feel bad.”

I am going to remind myself of that when I start falling into the toxic rivers of thought, and become better at CHOOSING.

In the classic, Acres of Diamonds, Russell Conwell begins with the legend of Ali Hafed.

Allow me to share the story because you might be in it!

Ali, blessed with a farm and many orchards, was still discontented. He wished for great wealth. So he sought out the village priest and asked for guidance.

The priest advised him to look for a river with white sands. There he would find diamonds. Many diamonds. So Ali left his family with neighbors, sold his farm and went in search of diamonds. For years Ali searched, never returning to his family.

Ultimately, Ali walked into the ocean’s waves, willfully ending his life – penniless and broken in spirit.

While Ali was searching for his great wealth, the new owner of Ali’s farm continued about making it a productive piece of land. One day, as his camels were drinking from the river that ran through Ali’s property, he saw a strange rock. Pulling it out of the stream and examining it, he was in awe. It was a very large diamond.

That farm became the site of the world’s largest diamond mine! Right there in Ali’s back yard was the river with white sands the priest had spoken of.

In his book, Acres of Diamonds, Russell Conwell continues to share many stories – true stories – with the same outcome. Right here in our Colorado we have a similar story.

In Ouray, a mining mountain town, one of the largest silver mines was discovered in a similar way. A local of Ouray, wanting to seek his fortune, left his little cabin and went deeper into the mountains in search of silver. He never returned and it is assumed he froze to death.

Squatters who took over his cabin one day began to dig right underneath it. And just like Ali’s story, that location became one of the biggest silver mines in Colorado.

The metaphors are powerful and thought provoking. Within each of us lies our own acres of diamonds – our own silver mine. They are the totally unique gifts and talents that we have been blessed with.

Our good is not “out there.” It is within us. We are divine beings, gifted with all the ingredients necessary to create our own abundance. But we must honor that which we have been given and not attempt to become that which we are not.

In the last ten years I’ve seen so many disappointed netpreneurs and most of them have done just what Ali did. They left existing strengths and many undeveloped talents to take a road that was not their true path.

And like Ali, most of them have not succeeded.

If we jump on the internet looking for someone else’s gold or silver or diamonds, like Ali, we are abandoning the treasures that are within us that await our excavation. BUT, if we excavate our own treasures and gifts and THEN put them on the internet, we have the real recipe for our own home grown diamonds!

It is a rule of the universe: what we bless expands. Bless your own acres of diamonds and you will become wealthy beyond your wildest dreams – not just in money -but also in joy, fulfillment, and peace.

I’ve been self employed for 35 years, and I can tell you that for me, it’s been far better than being in Corporate America.  I shudder when I think of my days in “cubicle horror.” 

I was blessed.  I got laid off and when I did, I wasn’t sure what to do.  But I found work as a contract underwriter, traveled the US and then a few years later opened my own company.

Might never have happened  if I hadn’t been laid off. 

The same goes for anyone right now who is afraid for their job.  Why?  Because now in the US there are amazing opportunities for contractors and independents.

Let me tell you a story from my past.  A friend was working for FHLMC and hated it.  So I told her to quit and then go back a week later and offer her services as an independent contractor.  She believed me and she did!

End of her story?  She ended up working for them as a contractor for the next 2 years and make 2X the money she used to, working from home in her sweats, about 3/4 of the time.  No meetings, no job reviews, no corporate BS. 

Then she came to work for me for awhile and ended up opening her own business.  I hear she and her husband make a TON.

Remember, 313 million and next.  You have UNLIMITED opportunities when you open your mind to them

Last year I was attempting to work with a woman who offered me an hourly salary that I made back when I was 18 (not telling how long that is.)

I was offended and then wondered what was wrong with my thoughts that someone would try to ask so much for so little?

I called my mentor Joe who gave me the best one minute advice I could imagine:  “Montana remember these two things:  313 million and the word next.  Put those two phrases on a 3X5 card and put it by your computer.”

I asked what that meant and he replied, “There are 313 people in the U.S. who could use your help.  When someone doesn’t want to honor your value,  think of the word ‘next’ – and just move on.  While 313 people were potentially waiting for you, we took up 20 minutes on someone who obviously does not.”

Wow!  That was a great lesson for me.  I was in a place in my life where I was doubting everything – I’d sustained some big losses – and those few minutes with Joe took me back to the real me – the one that IS worth ALOT and I was immediately grateful.

I walked to the beach near my house, looked at the waves and remembered the infinite possibilities of the Universe – and reminded myself that I am part of that Universe – and my possibilities are just as infinite.

So what if my bank account was dismal?  So what if I felt like a floundering fish out of water?

The Universe IS infinite and when we remember that and HOLD THAT STATE of mind, the Universe responds in kind and brings us more than we could ever imagine.

End of story – The very next day a woman called me to see if I could help with her website.  She has a Jamaican healing center.  I was delighted and excited.  I wrote a contract proposal at the value I knew I merited – she signed it the next day and I had a $2000 deposit in my bank account that afternoon!  Over the time we’ve worked together that contract has turned into many thousands AND includes the pleasure of knowing one of the most enlightened beings I’ve met.

So, the next time anyone wants to offer you less than you know you are worth, remember Joe’s advice — 313 million and next!

Remember, the universe WILL respond to you based on what you’re sending out — rate yourself HIGH and you’ll be surprised at the response.

Honor yourself.  You deserve the best — remember that.

I’ve been blessed to be intuitive my entire life, as was my sister, my mother and my grandmother.  I’ve also been gifted with using it in my career in corporate america and later in the financial businesses I successfully owned and operated.

Frankly, I don’t know what anyone does without it.  Outside of logic, I built a portfolio analsis business that analyzed billions of dollars of mortgage loans.  No business plan.  Just my gut – and my inner self nudging me with the consistent message: “there is more – you need to create more.”

Right now, I’m am very grateful for my “gut,” because I can see the chaos in the world today and because of my intuition, I can make choices from a higher place.

We are in a state of huge change on this planet and what worked yesterday is NOT working now.  We need a tour guide through the uncertainty and I am happy I have one — my inner wisdom – my intuition.

I am also happy I can see “the Greater Story,” in all of this and it involves a change in human consciousness.  We have to evolve – or it won’t matter whether we have a job, a car, a house, a relationship.

We either evolve or we will perish. 

Good news?  I see us evolving and rapidly.  At some point the pain of what we’re doing to each other will force us to make a CHOICE – and that choice will be to evolve, listen to our inner spirit, and realize that the physical realm is the illusion — not the unseen realms.

The folks I admire and that I believe know what they’re talking about see some amazing challenges ahead.

The humans who have learned to listen to their Inner Wisdom and heed it – will ride the surf through it all.

So if anyone is listening out there — I highly recommend you turn off the noise of the world and get into meditation, prayer, and listening to your inner voice.

All the answers are there.  The only answers are there.

Years ago, a mentor and good friend named Terry told me that when I identified my “true passion,” and then decided to live it, I would be unstoppable.

I looked up the word “passion,” in the dictionary, and was surprised to find that one of the origins of the word is “suffering.”  That makes sense to me now.  Usually our suffering is what guides us to our passion, AND not living our passion will result in suffering.

Yesterday I listened to a video by Janet Attwood, creator along with her husband Chris, of  “The Passion Test.”  The three steps outlined in the first video helped me remember times in my life when I WAS living my passion and take inventory of right now and identify areas where I am not.

Take a look at the free video (you can view all three), and see if you are living YOUR passion, and if not, take heart — the Attwood’s give you the tools to do so!

But now, as Deepak Chopra says, I have discovered the part of myself that is “outside of change,” and with that spiritual knowing, I am now far better equipped to ride the surfs of change. I have learned to recognize and celebrate my own genius – which we all have – and choose never again to surrender to (or create) a reality that does not support it.

The good news is that every one of us can be true Renaissance (French meaning “rebirth”), individuals. In fact, we are more fully alive when we allow ourselves to be all that we can be, to discover the multi-dimensional parts of ourselves and then release them out to the world.

We are many layered gifts and in these times of change, when we first do inventory of our incredible assets (and innate genius), then figure out how to develop and refine them, we are creating for ourselves the best possible way to journey through life – regardless of the changes we might encounter.

This blog will be to help each of us become our own “gurus of change,” so that we can re-invent ourselves when needed, or just reframe our current circumstances, whether that is as a frustrated executive, or a fearful new entreprenuer. Or a recently downsized previously loyal employee. It will also encourage each of us to continue to recognize and celebrate the genius within that is our Divine birthright.

Transitions can be difficult or they can be an adventure. It is our choice. This blog will explore the many ways to transition, to flow through change, to thrive regardless of circumstance, and mostly to take a good inventory of our possibilties – in all situtations.

And then, to choose to live our lives fully by unfolding all of our Divine possibities.
